Testimonials

"Our lives were turned upside down when our youngest at 18 months of age was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. We thought for sure one of us would have to quit our jobs to care for him. The thoughts that ran through our heads, how are we ever going to find anybody willing to care for our son and take..."

School Age - Badgers

Hi, I am Mr. John and I am the lead teacher for the Badgers classroom. I enjoy working at Martin Luther and feel that being around children and the educational environment keeps me energized. Our center is a great place to work because it is large enough to provide a true school environment, yet small enough to have a staff whose hearts are truly invested in providing quality care to the families we serve. The 7-8yr old group of children I teach are excited, inquisitive and fun-loving and it is my aim to simply build on those attributes. I consider it a privilege to play a part in your child’s school day and aim to keep things fun throughout the process.

I am a father of three school-age children, two girls and a boy. I previously worked as a writer after spending many years in the automotive industry. Later, I decided to complete my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services at Columbia College in Illinois. In my spare time, I still enjoy writing and music, as well as spending plenty of time with my wife, my kids, cats and our pet chinchilla “Chile”.

We welcome your school age child to the Badgers classroom, located towards the front of the building. The Badgers class has plenty of play and learning centers in the classroom. This includes a SMART board, as well as outside time, and access to our gym, computer lab/library and an awesome game room. The Badgers class offers both before and after school care, as well care on days when there is no school. Homework time is allotted for children in our school age program. Curriculum is centered upon building social and cognitive skills through games, activities and other types of fun, and active learning.
