Meet the Office Staff

Julie Florence
Administrator/Center Director

I became a childcare teacher at Martin Luther in July of 2002 and became the Administrator/Center Director in October of 2002. I began working in the childcare field at the age of twenty. San Diego, California is where I was born and raised. I attended college at San Diego State University. I am married and have four wonderful children, and a grandson. My husband and I decided to move to Wisconsin in June of 2001 to be closer to family and to raise our children in a smaller community. I enjoy working with children and love to see them grow and develop through all of their many stages in life.

Heidi Yngsdal
Assistant Director

I have a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I began my career working with preschool children from low income backgrounds and then joined Martin Luther in 2008. I began as a 3-year old teacher and then moved to working as a school age teacher. During my time with the school age program, I received my CDL license to drive the bus transporting children to and from school as well as for field trips. As Assistant Director I continue to work with families and teachers to create a safe and fun environment for children to learn and grow.

Personnel Coordinator

I have been employed here since May of 2016 and have enjoyed getting to know the teachers and staff here at the center. I love helping them obtain a positive work environment, helping them with their scheduling needs, as well as any other personnel-related challenges they face. Before coming to Martin Luther I was employed in Janesville at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home for 13 years. I received my CNA certificate in January of 2001 and worked on the floor for 9 years before becoming a lead CNA. As a lead CNA I began training new staff and also had the responsibility of scheduling staff at St. Elizabeth. A year later, I decided to hang up my CNA position for good and accept the position as Human Resource Supervisor and I worked in that position for two years. After 13 years of working at St. Elizabeth, I decided to move on to start a new adventure in life and began working at Martin Luther Child Development Center.

I am a single mother of two great children. We enjoy camping, swimming and most of all just being around our family and friends. We spend most of our free time with my four siblings and their children and are always planning our next trip camping to the Dells or simply just a cookout to be around each other.

Tamarah Fleres
Administrative Assistant

My family and I have lived in Stoughton for the last 20 years. Since beginning my position in November of 2014, I have had the pleasure of meeting many families and students. With the daily tasks of accounting, maintaining student records and general office duties, my days are always busy. It gives me great pleasure to be able to help students that come into the office and to assist their families with questions they may have. I am happy to be a part of the amazing, hard-working staff at Martin Luther, as we work toward our common goal of giving families a place for their children to learn and grow safely while having fun.

Mackensey Gervasi

I have worked at Martin Luther since 2015. I started as a float teacher and I am now the Office Assistant. I enjoy working in the office as I get to keep in touch with all of the families. In my spare time, I enjoy decorating cakes and spending time with family.
